My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone I'm Samson, or you can call me Sammy! I'm an athletic young fellow, probably about 5 years old. I was running loose on the air force base in Idaho when a really nice animal control officer caught me and started to teach me not all people are scary-bad. I'm still struggling with this concept, but my foster humans are continuing to teach me kindness, too.

I'm a bit of a tough nut to crack. My foster mom was super patient with me, the first month I played hard to get. After all…. It was she that showed up and suddenly I was taken away from the nice lady that saved me at the air force base, the only security I had known. But I've decided my new foster mom did this because she cared. After I decided she was an okay gal, I've never looked back. She says I would make an awesome agility prospect. I don't know what that means, but I do know how much I like to chase the ball and play with the rope tug. She also says I am very smart. I learn very quickly, once I make up my mind it is safe. I love to cuddle with her, and when she takes me with her on adventures I am in doggie heaven!

The best scenario for me would be a home with another fun female pooch to help show me the routine. I love playing with one of the female dogs here at my foster home. She has been teaching me proper doggie etiquette. But no male dogs, please. As far as my relationship with you, you'll have to be really patient with me, and if you are a woman it’s a point in your favor. If you are a man, I’ll have to think about it a bit, but I can learn to trust you. I love to take a ride in a vehicle, and I am great on leash. But this comes only with time and bonding. Patience will need to be your middle name, but just like my foster mom, you will be rewarded for it! It will be best if you live close to Cody, WY where I am fostered so you can take time getting to know me with multiple visits before taking me home.
