My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweetie is an 8 year old spayed female mixed breed (~20 lbs) that absolutely lives up to her name. Sweetie is a wonderful companion and clearly used to being a spoiled house dog! She is very content to sleep through the day (and has a predilection for furniture) but is also happy to go for a walk or romp around outside with other dogs. Whatever you want to do, so does Sweetie! She is great with other dogs, doesn’t pay any attention to her foster cat but clearly wants to please people most of all. She loves attention and butt scratches. Sweetie is housebroken and travels very well in the car (so well, that her foster mom forgot she was in the car when they were driving home from the shelter). Her foster mom does not have a bad word to say about Sweetie – she settled in happily and quietly immediately. She’s an older model, but don’t pass her over because she has a lot of miles (and love) left in her. She will make an AWESOME companion. She does have a condition called dry eye in her left eye, which means this eye does not produce enough tears. However, it is not painful and Sweetie is quite used to it, but she will benefit from daily eye drops to help with tear production. She also has some dental tartar (apparently she forgot to brush her teeth daily for the last 8 years), but she will be getting a dental cleaning soon and can’t wait to give you many kisses with her clean mouth. If you have room in your heart and home for Sweetie, please apply online at www.codrl.org. Sweetie's adoption fee is $125 to help with vetting.

Central Ohio Dog Rescue is not a shelter. All of our dogs are fostered in our homes and treated as family until they are adopted. We will not ship dogs and all adopters will need to complete an application before meeting one of our dogs. Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered will be adopted out with a spay/neuter agreement and refundable deposit. Dogs/puppies are NOT adopted out of state without a positive vet reference. Prospective adopters must be at least 24 years of age to adopt. All pets in the household must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations and heartworm. We process many applications and may not respond to every applicant. We try to chose the best home for each dog based upon the individual dog's needs. Please check out our website for additional information: www.codrl.org
