My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Gabe!! I'm a young, active beagle looking for my forever home. A few months ago I ended up in trouble at a kill shelter and I barely made it out, but thankfully e-rescue and my foster mom rescued me just in time! For the past few months I've been hanging out with my new beagle buddies at my foster home and life has been great, but I really want a home of my own!

I'm about 10-12 months old, 15" tall, and 22 pounds. I'm fully grown and won't get any taller than I am now but I might gain a pound or two. My foster mom always tells me what long legs and big ears I have...I just remind her that beagles are supposed to have big ears!! I still have a lot of puppy in me and love playing with all kinds of toys and I LOVE other dogs!! I follow my foster brother all over the house and definitely need at least one other playful dog in my forever home, I would be too lonely as an only dog. I'd like to find a doggie friend that loves to wrestle and play chase and tug-of-war, but that will also curl up with me for naps. I love curling up with people too..... there's nothing better than cuddling in someone's lap at the end of the day.

I'm told that I'm a pretty energetic guy and need an active family. I love going on walks, I can walk for miles in the park trying to find the squirrels. I like to show of my beagle bay when I find them so hopefully you think that's a pretty sound! I've heard my foster mom say that I'm "all beagle". She usually says that after I've gone counter surfing or tried to get in the garbage or sneak out the front door or gate. I guess it would be best if I find a family that understands beagles and appreciates how much we love food and smelling things!

I also hear my foster mom telling me how smart I am and that I'm such a good puppy!! Maybe that's because I know "sit" and "off" and put myself in the crate when she leaves for work and at bedtime. I don't mind the crate at all, I get my chewie bones, toys and soft blankets when I'm in there!! At night I sleep all night long without making any noises until the alarm clock goes off and then I'm ready to start my day. I bark a little when my mom leaves for the day so I wouldn't do well living in an apartment.

So, are you ready to take me home yet? Did I mention I give kisses and get along with older kids and dog savvy cats?? What else could you ask for! "
