My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A Story of Survival With A Smile!

A few months ago, a Take Me Home volunteer saw a man walking a limping dog. Our volunteer went to see what was wrong with him, and saw that he had a horrible gash from the top of his paw to the bottom of the pad. The man said he was homeless and had no money to help his amazingly sweet dog. The dog was visibly in pain so our volunteer happily helped the man and took him into the vet to be stitched and bandaged. Our volunteer then went on to fund his neuter, all of his vaccines, and then started paying for his food.

Once our volunteer informed Take Me Home about this dog, TMH happily started providing food and flea medication for the dog. We also wanted to help the man with his dog. A month later, the volunteer gets a payphone call from the man stating the dog was viciously stabbed in the head by a man. The attack was completely unprovoked. Our same amazing TMH volunteer flew out at 12am to check on the dog and rushed him into the emergency hospital. There was a police investigation and the person who stabbed him is now serving 7 years in prison for felony animal cruelty!

The volunteer was worried about leaving Blaine but the man insisted that Blaine would be fine and checked in at least 3 times a week. Then a very hot day, our volunteer received a call from the man explaining that he now has shelter and no longer can take care of the dog. He left Blaine tied to a dumpster without any food or water. So for one last time our volunteer raced to Blaine! After all that he has endured, he greeted her with licks of gratitude and hopped right into the car heading for freedom!

Take Me Home welcomes Blaine with open arms.

Dogs are truly amazing! Blaine is such a sweet boy. He is 3 years old and loves everyone. He just wants to crawl in your lap and be loved. Can you blame him? Ask to meet Blaine today and you can be his happy ever after!
