Scruffy's Story...
Scruffy is a great dog! He is so very sweet and loves to be with his foster mom. He sits at her feet when she is busy on the computer or takes a nap on the couch next to her. He wants to be wherever there are people. He gets along great with all of the other dogs in the foster mom's home. Scruffy has not met a cat, but he is a very gentle dog. His foster mom wasn't sure if he knew how to bark until he met someone he didn't know and had to warm up to them. His foster mom calls him a little gentleman! All he wants to do is please his people.

Scruffy comes from a high kill, overcrowded shelter in California. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, house trained, crate trained and heartworm tested negative.
Adoption fee-$250

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scruffy, a Covington Cairn Terrier/Brussels Griffon dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier/Brussels Griffon for sale in Covington, or seeking a Cairn Terrier/Brussels Griffon dog from a breeder in Covington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Covington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Covington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier/Brussels Griffon breeders who help with Cairn Terrier/Brussels Griffon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Covington paves the way for another one to be saved.
