Hi! My name is Midnight. I am only 1 year old and looking for a home for life. I am very handsome and I'm already neutered and vaccinated. I am friendly and affectionate. I love to have my head scratched. I was transferred to the rescue from animal control where I had been surrendered by my owner. After she got me, her landlord said "no cats" and threatened to evict us, so I ended up homeless at an animal control shelter. I lived with two children and two other cats. I am marked as "special needs" because I tested positive for FIV, but I still deserve a loving home. FIV has no cure but if I am well cared for, eat quality food and always live inside, I will live a long, healthy life. FIV cannot be transferred to humans or dogs, but can be transferred to other cats through a deep bite wound. And since I'm a lover, not a fighter, that shouldn't be an issue. So, please give me a chance! Adoption fee: $60.

- Third Sunday of Every Month: Adoption Event at Petco, 4820 S. Baldwin Rd, Lake Orion/Auburn Hills. From noon to 4 p.m., come meet adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens (as available). A selection of adoptable cats and kittens live at the store full-time and you can see them any time the store is open: Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Sundays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Adoption event dates for 2014: March 16, Saturday, March 29, April 20, May 18, June 15, July 20, August 17, September 21, October 19, November 16 and December 21.
Adoption and Foster Care Application
Adoption Process:Complete the application at
www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
