Patches's Story...
My name's Patches! I was adopted, but recently returned because my family was moving and couldn't take me with them. When I originally left, I was a skinny mini. Judging my size now, it seems as though I was overfed or did not get enough exercise to balance me out. While I await my real forever home, DHA is making sure I get plenty of playtime and a balanced diet to get my into better shape. For now, endless games of fetch, bouncing around with my kennel mates, and being the sweet, silly girl I am will have to do! Won't you let me show you how wonderful and adorable I am?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Patches, a Wilmington Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
