Samantha's Story...
Samantha is about 6 years old and is still looking for her forever home. Sam was adopted from us as a kitten, along with Alexandra (cat), but recently returned due to allergies. Because Sam and Alex have been together their whole lives, we would love to see them go to their new home together! They are quiet, loyal, and well-behaved and get along with cats. We believe they would do well in a home with calm dogs as well. They grew up with small kids and would be the perfect companions to children! Their favorite activities include snuggling, getting back scratches, and stalking bugs and lizards. They can be a little shy at first in new places, but we know that with time they will provide their new family with endless love and lots of laughs!

Please let us know you saw this cat on Adopt A Pet! All animals are spayed/ neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm and Feline leukemia/FIV negative, microchipped, and have current rabies vaccines. With all adoptions we offer a free vet exam to the vet of your choice in Alachua County. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Samantha, a Gainesville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gainesville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gainesville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gainesville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gainesville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gainesville paves the way for another one to be saved.
