Gidget's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, and up to date with shots.

Gidget's Story...
Gidget is a very petite lady at 3 year old, and is looking for a permanent lap to lay in. Gidget is not spayed, so that will be done before she can go to her new home. She came in with her son, John Wayne. Gidget lost her human mom and family was unable to care for her, so she is looking to start the next chapter of her life and hopes to find her forever home. It was reported that she is house trained, is good with other dogs but we are not sure of her behavior with cats. Because of her size, Gidget will do best in a home with older children who realize she is very small and she is at risk of back issues as all Dachshunds are. We are accepting applications for Gidget.

If you want to apply for Gidget click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gidget, a Meridian Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
