Tabitha's Story...
What a pretty name for a pretty girl! Meet Tabitha, who is about 15 weeks in age as of 3/13/14. She is a lab mix puppy that was abandoned in the woods to care for herself. Many concerned people were trying to get her to safety for a few weeks and finally success! Tabitha is in a foster home learning how to be a puppy and that people can be trusted. She is coming along nicely on crate training while the foster is at work during the day. She does enjoy other dogs and cats are unknown. Tabitha will not be at our adoption events for a few weeks as we want to continue helping her along and will be getting her spayed shortly. If you are interested in adding Tabitha to your family, we would love to receive an application so we can get started, this can be done now by visiting our website at www.henricohumane.org and clicking on adoption, then application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tabitha, a Richmond Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
