Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Handsome Hefner is a former show dog who came to us as an owner surrender when his owner developed allergies. He is a beautiful white and tan bulldog who is 7 years old and crate trained.
Hefner loves to go for short walks and does very well on a leash. He also enjoys rides in the car, chewing on his toys, and relaxing on the couch. Because he is a retired show dog, Hefner has some unique mannerisms - often standing rather than sitting, especially when riding in the car.
Hefner’s previous owner said he does well cats. Hefner recently has not been getting along with the other dogs in his foster home, and has shown signs of being toy-possessive, so he would be best to go to a home with no other dogs. Hefner would be best in a home with children over 8 years old due to his energy level.
While in our care, Hefner underwent unexpected exploratory surgery, due to becoming suddenly very jaundiced. The vet found that Hefner’s common bile duct had ruptured and his liver formed around it. His gallbladder was about to explode, but thankfully the vet was able to remove it and get the flow of bile moving again. Since his surgery, Hefner has been doing very well and has been given a clean bill of health! He will need to stay on prescription Science Diet L/D food for the rest of his life.
Please consider opening up your heart and giving Hefner his loving furever home!
Adoption donation for Hefner is $350.
Please note: We will not ship our dogs. Adopters must live in or within 2 hours of Ohio. All of our dogs are kept in private foster homes and for the privacy of our foster families, we do not allow meet and greets until the potential adopter's application has been approved. To fill out an application to adopt, please visit our website at www.buckeyebulldogrescue.org. Once the application is received, we will conduct a home visit and a vet check.
