Under one year of age
We received notification of a dog that was to be put down, mainly because she refused interaction and kept her face in a corner. Upon her release to us this once non-interactive dog cuddled up on the first lap she could find. Here is it and fact: She knew her fate while at the shelter. She knew upon release she was free and safe. This is a dog of extraordinary intelligence.
Meredith is one of a kind. She is highly devoted to the person she trusts most and friendly to all. She can be trusted with dogs of all sizes and ages. Meredith will not leave your side, to include walking in the wide open spaces without a leash (not recommended). Even though her senses are keen, she does not overreact. She does not bark to bark. She does not destroy.
Meredith was accepted into a hearing impaired service dog program. The potential of this dog has yet to be seen. Meredith is a gem.
It's a common myth that dogs with dark tongues must have Chow Chow in their lineage. Any breed can have a tongue with dark pigment that ranges from blue to black in color, Labradors included.
