This dog has been in THE RED DOG PROJECT, a prison rehabilitation program managed by Dog Days Adoption Events, Inc. The program is usually four weeks of fostering with inmate handlers and learning the basics of all around good behavior, potty training and interacting with other dogs.

GENERAL BEHAVIOR AND IDEAL HOME:
Scruffles is a 7 year old terrier mix. Scruffles is happy-go-lucky and has a big grin on her face at all times. She was housed in a run with multiple dogs and one bowl of food.

• A letter from your vet on their letterhead will also be very helpful if they won't be open for us to call as a reference.
• If you are renting, please note you must have a written letter of permission from your landlord to own a dog on their property.
• Red Dog Project volunteers will be conducting interviews of prospective adopters either on the phone or at the weekend event. As a policy, dogs are adopted to the best home, not the first application.
• Red Dog Project dogs may ONLY be seen at the Tractor Supply events held once per month. Due to security issues at the prison please understand that alternative dates to meet a dog you're interested in are usually not available.
• If you have never owned a dog and therefore do not have a vet reference let us know right away and we'll try to do a home visit before the adoption. First time adopters need a quick home visit to make sure they are ready to take a dog home for the first time.

GENERAL VETERINARY CARE:
I have been:
~ spayed/neutered
~ microchipped (usually but not always)
~ dewormed
~ heatworm-tested negative if dog is of age to be tested ( 6 months or older)
~ up to date on all age appropriate shots
~ treated with a flea preventative
Scruff has been seen by a Connecticut veterinarian and all medical records will come with the adoption papers as well as notes from Scruff's dog handler.
ADOPTION FEES
Adoption fee is $385 and includes all vetting listed above.
