Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pia is an elegant 12 pound, 6 year old, blue-fawn pied girl that grew up in a retirement community. She is very low-key and used to a quiet life style. She is a little shy but extremely friendly with a tail that just wags and wags. Her manners are just as lovely as she is!
So far Pia walks beautifully on a leash and sleeps very quietly through the night as long as she can role herself up like a burrito in her favorite white blankie. She will also cheerfully sit for a treat.
Pia's vetting is complete and we are now getting her allergies under control. She has a long history of dry cracked and tender paw pads so we have switched her to a grain free diet and started her on fish oil supplements to see if this helps and are already seeing improvement. Pia also has a condition called 'color dilution alopecia' which causes thinning hair due to a mutation in the color gene for some dogs with blue or fawn fur color. This is completely cosmetic and is only present where she has blue-fawn fur.
Pia would love to be adopted by a family with a slow and quiet lifestyle and will do just fine as an only dog since she grew up that way. She is cat friendly and has gotten along well with other IGs in her foster home. Pia will likely do best as an only dog, or with a single canine companion with a similar energy level, and no children.
