Anya's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Anya's Story...
If you have been looking for the most outgoing, young Shih-Tzu ever, Anya is your girl!

At only four-years-old and a snuggly 15 pounds, Anya promises to love you for many, many more years to come.

Anya is the best at cuddling, sleeping next to you and going for walks. However, don't mistake her sweetness for weakness: she knows what she wants and she will let her canine friends know - in a non-aggressive, but very self-assured way - if she doesn't like something. See, sharing is not one of her strong suits.

Anya has the appropriate energy level of a pooch her age, and she's pretty easy-going. She's also good with children.

Anya is healthy, spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and heartworm-tested negative. She is patiently waiting for her fur-ever family in her foster home in New York City.

If Anya sounds like the best friend you have been missing from your life, please fill out an application: http://www.reefuge.org/application/

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Anya, a Brooklyn Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Brooklyn, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Brooklyn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brooklyn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brooklyn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brooklyn paves the way for another one to be saved.
