My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Luke! Luke is an 8 month old, male, Feist mix. He weighs 23 pounds and will probably not get much bigger. Luke's story that led him to Critter Cavalry Rescue starts out rather sad but is getting happier all the time. It began early one morning when a friend and fellow animal lover was on her way to work when she saw this little brown dog being attacked by a dog that outweighed him by 60 pounds. She tried to stop them but was confronted by another dog that was an instigator in the attack. This left her in a very helpless situation. The last time she saw this helpless creature was when the dog ran away with the little dog in his mouth shaking him like a toy. The woman was distraught all day and just couldn't forget what she saw. That's when she called Luke's now foster mom and told her what had happened very convinced that the little dog could not possibly have survived. After a little bit of convincing the two of them went back to the area and found the little pup bleeding and injured but stable. The really sad part is, that his owners could not afford to have Luke treated for his injuries. It became clear that the owners truly wanted what was best for him and they turned him over to Critter Cavalry where he could receive the care that he needed. Four weeks later, Luke is healed and doing great. He is now ready to find a loving home to call his own. He is a wonderful dog full of love. He is very playful and despite what happened to him, he still loves life. He plays with other dogs with no fear. He likes cats but does like to aggravate them just a little bit. He does well in the house and is house training very well. He is also great with children. However, because of his energy level it is recommended that he go to a family with children that are old enough to play with him and give him the exercise he needs.
