Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Alize was rescued from BARC, the Houston city pound. She had been there past her allotted time and was going to be killed if she was not adopted. A kind woman met her and, after seeing how sweet she was, got her to save her life and give her a decent chance for a good home. She has fostered Alize ever since, getting her healthy and teaching her obedience cues. And Alize has learned! She is 4.5 years old (Jan 2014 - DOB: July 2009) and is so smart. She is also perfectly house-trained and crate trained.
One interesting thing about Alize is her special tenderness for cats. She currently lives with five cats and she is very gentle with them and likes to snooze with them. She was always an angel and protective of a very frail 3.5 lb. little old lady cat until the cat passed on at 14 years old. On the other hand, Alize would do best as an only dog in the home unless it was to be with a person with great experience in managing a multi-dog household, as Alize generally does not care for other dogs.
Although she sleeps completely still and doesn’t chew up anything when she sleeps with her foster mom, there can be no pillows or blankets in her crate because she will chew them up and that can be a grave danger to a dog. She does enjoy having her Nylabone whenever she is in her crate.
Alize is a very loving dog and bonds strongly to her people. She is content sitting on the ottoman or wherever her foster mom is, for hours. She rides extremely well in a car. Just sits or lies there, even for a 5.5 hour ride! She loves playing fetch with a ball or Frisbee and even brings it back for more! She is very smart and picks up on new things quickly. She is great company!
If you, or someone you know, is interested in adopting or would like more information on Alize, please contact her foster mom at cameobua@gmail.com - Thanks!
