Sienna's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Sienna's Story...
Sienna is loving, playful, and kind. She is approximately 2 years old and was found by a property owner in the 5th Ward on a 3 foot leash, tied to an abandoned rental house. Luckily someone alerted rescue to her so that she could be saved. Sienna has a beautifully colored coat! It's a interesting mixture of black, brindle, and merle/dapple and even a few blazes of white mixed in.

Like a typical AmStaff mix, Sienna loves loving on people and getting attention. She enjoys going for walks & playing with people as well as other dogs. She is crate-trained and almost has house/potty-training down (she has very few accidents these days). Sienna weighs 46 lbs, has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, but is heartworm positive and currently undergoing slow-kill treatment.

She can be kind of shy around new people, but does warm up quickly. She's terrific with kids and has done great with all of the dogs she's met. Sienna does not really understand cats, but does enjoy chasing them. If your cats are dog-savvy, then they should be able to live in harmony. Sienna has shown to be a bit of an escape artist, although she remains in the immediate area and returns when called. She does not like to share her food while she’s eating, but really, who does?! Any potential owners would need to understand that she needs to be left alone to eat, either in her crate or in a room separate from any other animals. (This is advisable for most street dogs, as they are used to fighting for food.)

Sienna's ideal guardian/home would be a family with other dogs and even children. However, she’d really be happy any place, with anyone where she’d be loved every day. She's easy-going and easy to please! Sienna's adoption fee is $125. If you, or someone you know, are interested in adopting or would like more information about Sienna, please fill out an adoption application on our website: www.forgottendogs.org/adoption_application - Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sienna, a Houston American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Houston, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
