My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shultz, a super sweet & gentle soul. He's ~12 yrs old & weighs ~14 lbs. He's a very quiet & laid back boy. All he really just wants a warm lap to snuggle in & help watch tv with you. Don't let his age fool you. He's got plenty of life left to live. He loves to go for walks & meander around the yard exploring all that Spring has to offer. He's gets the highest of marks for his house training & crate training. His foster mommy says "he's like the unicorn you've always heard about but never actually seen - he's totally trustworthy in the house & will not pee on or chew up a thing." ;D

If you are interested in adopting Shultz, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Shultz 's adoption fee is $275. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Shultz will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
