Meet Darkness! Isn't she a beauty? Darkness might be her name but her future is a bright one. She is one of those labs that gives the breed its good name. She is either a very high mix or full lab. Very sweet, VERY loving girl who will fit almost anywhere. She has a calm nature. She is a Velcro Dog. She loves to rub up against you for pets and will nuzzle and cuddle too. She will get on her elbows with butt in the air. She likes squeaky toys and playing ball. She will give you her gorgeous puppy dog eyes and stare outside her kennel just to get some attention from the humans around. Darkness knows how to sit/lay down and will show you if you ask her. She would fit in to almost any family. Does she sound like the dog for you? Fill out an adoption application today. She is waiting to come home.

If you would like to adopt Darkness, please contact Barrie at doubledogbarrie@comcast.net

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
