Meet Hogg!! According to his foster: Oh my goodness!!! He is awesome! He is very sweet and very loving. He hasn't displayed any food, animal or stranger aggression. He loves to ride in the car and loves to be able to see out of the window. He has been sleeping in the bed with me and my 80 lb. Pit bull..lol. He passes out on his back if your rubbing his belly and lets you love all over him. He loves attention and prefers to be with his human. He apparently was allowed under the covers but when you don't let him, he is just fine with the cuddles or just lays at the foot of the bed. He does well in a crate if needed. He will fit in with any family but it will be best if he is with someone who wants to be with him a lot. This pup is a treasure.

From rescuer: Overall, he is nothing but pure love and the elderly gentleman who surrendered him contacts us every day to check on the little boy.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
