Thor- Adoption Pending's Story...
Meet Thor! This Shepherd / Corgi mix (our guess on breeds) is around 18 months old and came to us from a hoarding situation. Thor is a happy go lucky boy, who despite his past, is learning to trust again. He is excellent with other dogs and children. He walks (more like trots) on a leash very well, loves the outdoors, and is very observant, stopping to take notice of birds chirping in trees. He is eager to please and is working on learning basic commands. He will occasionally bark at unfamiliar people and/or noises, but has never shown any aggression whatsoever. Thor is wary of men and will bark at them, but once he realizes they aren't a threat, will calm down. Thor does well on housebreaking when he has a consistent schedule. He is not 100% there just yet. Additionally, Thor is still adjusting to crate training (he hates the crate with a passion and seems to be an escape artist extraordinaire). Additionally, as Thor came from a hoarding situation, he seems to do better when people are home A tall fenced yard is a must. He may do better with another dog in the home. If you have room in your home and heart for this knee high gentle boy, please apply online at www.codrl.org. Thor's adoption fee is $150.
Central Ohio Dog Rescue is not a shelter. All of our dogs are fostered in our homes and treated as family until they are adopted. We will not ship dogs and all adopters will need to complete an application before meeting one of our dogs. Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered will be adopted out with a spay/neuter agreement and refundable deposit. Dogs/puppies are NOT adopted out of state without a positive vet reference. Prospective adopters must be at least 24 years of age to adopt. All pets in the household must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations and heartworm. We process many applications and may not respond to every applicant. We try to chose the best home for each dog based upon the individual dog's needs.
