Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET MURPHY!
Hey Lads and Lassies! The name's Murphy and I'm an adult male miniature dachshund. I know I missed the boat for Paddy's Day (as we Irish like to call it), but it's still March and I'm a pretty lucky little guy so I figure I'm in with a chance of stealin' your hearts! As you can probably see from my photos, I've a bit of a pirate look about me, but don't let that scare ye. I'm as loveable and cuddly as can be. I'm house trained, crate trained, and I love to play and go for walks. I even get along well with other animals but truth be told, I'd love all your attention. So, how about it, me friends? If yer lookin' for a loveable li'l doxie like me-self, I'd love to make you my forever humans!
OUR CRITERIA (aka the Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
Can you give MURPHY a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
