My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ever wanted a cat, but cant have one because of allergies? Lantana might be your answer. Lantana is a very special, one in a million kind of girl. She is non-intrusive and doesn't need constant attention. Extremely low key and quiet but independent. Lantana is perfectly house trained and so well behaved she rarely needs correction. She enjoys cat-like rough housing with her family, having her tummy ruffled and nibbling hands during play. Toys are not her thing but she adores bones, hooves, antlers and any treat she can chew for longer periods. Tana is a walker and likes to explore outside. She listens so well, she doesn't need a leash. Although she will venture 20 yards ahead, she always come when called. She has experienced several foster dogs and has accepted them all.
She doesn't actively engage in play with them but has tried "Lantana Style". She sits in front of a playmate and two-paws relentlessly, and reaches out with one paw to try to touch the other dog.. The recipient usually just barks at her in confusion... but that's the little warrior princess. Tana could be an only dog or part of a pack, if the other pack members were similar in size or smaller. Initially she might take some time to warm up and show her loving nature but she has blossomed in foster care and will in your home too. Lantana's only drawback is that she is vision impaired and will need eye drops daily for the remainder of her life to preserve her remaining sight. Though vision impaired, she adapts quickly and is fearless in her explorations. Within days she was navigating her new environment, including stairs. Her sensory memory is phenomenal. She has a dry eye condition that was neglected prior to coming to us. Her ideal home would have her owner there a lot of the day, so her prescription eye drops could be administered at regular intervals. This girl is an absolute joy to foster. But she deserves her own special FORever person to care for her and understand her limitations…which presently, are very few. She has surely exceeded all original expectations. For more wonderful stories about this remarkable sweetie contact: info@FORrescue.net asking about Lantana. She is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm and flea prevention, microchipped, and spayed.
