My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oakley is a 5 1/2 year old American Staffie terrier mix that was rescued originally from a shelter in Virginia. He has an old rear leg injury that does make him appear to walk funny when it bothers him. He is good with kids, cats and other dogs and loves to go on walks with his best bud Onyx a tiny little black Chihuahua who has been his constant companion since his former owner acquired her. They will cry for each other if out of each other's site. Both are house trained and are wonderful dogs. Onyx started out at the shelter scared to death and was afraid of certain people, but now has come out of her shell and loves just about everyone. She does like to be carried around and wants to be wherever Oakley is. If you give them treats Oakley makes sure that he doesn't take any treats from Onyx, even if they are laying right beside his feet. He waits until you give him a treat to eat it. They sleep mostly with Onyx on top of Oakley or cuddled up to his belly. The family fell on hard times and were living in a motel and could no longer properly care for them, so they reluctantly turned them into the shelter for us to try to find a permanent home where they could live together forever. Because of Onyx tiny size a home with older children would be best for them. Please, help us keep this cute couple together!
