Picasso's Story...
Picasso is a spotted American Bulldog. He is estimated to be about 6 years old. He was found as a stray in Cuero TX. He was in very bad shape and extremely underweight. He has lots of scars and bite marks all over his face and head. Most likely he was used as a bait dog, but since he is so mellow and he did not fight, he was dumped on the street to die. Luckily a good Samaritan took him in and brought to our rescue.

Picasso is doing much better now. He gained some weight (when he was found, he was only 64 lbs. and now he is 87 lbs.) He is really sweet and very mellow. He is good with all people, kids and could care less about other dogs around him. He is current on vaccinations and he's been neutered. He is now ready for a loving home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Picasso, a Austin American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog for sale in Austin, or seeking a American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog breeders who help with American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
