My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Sadie and I am 5 years old. Several months ago I found myself alone and lost. I had bite marks, cuts and scrapes all over my head and back. I don’t remember what happened; I just remember that I was scared and hurting. I didn’t know where to go, so I laid low in the brush just outside a quiet cemetery. I watched in sadness as cars and people passed me by. Not knowing who to trust or who would hurt me, I made myself as small as possible. I became invisible. As the night set upon me and darkness was around me, I settled in a pile of leaves for the night. I knew I needed to rest, no telling what tomorrow would bring. But, before I went to sleep, I asked God to please send me someone who cares. I know there are good people out there, please show me where they are. I awoke the next morning to footsteps in the distance. I gathered myself up and watched as a man and a dog headed my way. The dog was much smaller than me and running in my direction. As the little fellow got closer, he was wagging his tail and smiling at me. We sniffed each other and said hello. Once he got a good look at me, his smile quickly faded and he frowned. He said what happened are you okay? I said I couldn’t remember and that I was not okay. He said don’t worry, that’s my dad running behind me. He’s probably not too happy with me, right now, since I didn’t come when he called after me. Don’t worry; he’ll understand this is an emergency. When the man arrived, he looked over at me and frowned too. He told me that he was calling someone to come help me. After a short while, a woman came over to us. She got out of her car and smiled at me, she told me that I was going to be okay and that I was safe. I looked up at the sky and thanked God, for sending this little dog and these kind humans my way! The woman picked me up into her arms and carefully picked the leaves and debris from my blood dried hair. We went to Pet Harbor Veterinary Hospital, where the kind staff took care of my wounds and gave me some meds. I recovered nicely thanks to my loving foster family. The scars on my body are gone and I have a new leash on life, no pun intended! For the first time in my life I have finally felt what it’s like to be loved on, and shown attention to. I would love to be someone’s “one and only”. We can shower each other with love and affection. I promise I will be your loyal and committed companion for life. Can you promise the same to me? If so, please go to www.foreverhome4dogsrescue.com to fill out an adoption application. You can also email foreverhome4dogs@aol.com or call David 228-219-7974 for more information. Life is too short, let’s start making memories together!
