MEET MILLIE -
Whether her name brings up thoughts of former President and First Lady Barbara Bush’s famous author dog, or the young Jamaican teenager, Millie Small, who sang “My Boy Lollipop” in 1964, this MILLIE is sure to make your “heart go giddy-up.” While not yet old enough to have written her own biography as the President’s dog did (our MILLIE is only 18 weeks old), she is “as sweet as candy” and loves to give kisses and cuddles. She is already used to small children, other dogs and cats. She even plays with big dogs. Like all puppies though, MILLIE needs alot of training, unconditional love, affection and a safe healthy environment, so please apply only if you work from home or are lucky enough to not have to work. Our Criteria (aka the Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
