Facts about Buddy

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever/American Staffordshire Terrier Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
This precious baby was rescued off the street with his sister, one by one. They were semi-feral and not in good shape at all. Riddled with mange, hungry, scared and they didn't know the kindness of a human touch. Once safe with us it didn't take long for for Buddy to become the attention hog and to allow us to hug him realizing that we were there to help. Now, Buddy asks for attention all the time and wants for love. He takes a minute to warm up to new ppl but certainly knows humans can be good. Buddy is gentle, kinda shy, loves toys and would make great new family member. He is so sweet, so loving and has so much to learn - but he promises to try. Give us a call for more information or to set up a visit- he will melt your heart.

About Heart of Texas SPCA

About Our Shelter...

Our History:
Our shelter was established in May of 2000 as a No-kill, 501 (c) (3) non-profit shelter. At that time animals were fostered and adopted out by word of mouth. In November 2001 adoptions were done out of a donated space at a local veterinary clinic, staffed completely by volunteers. We outgrew that space quickly and moved into our own location in 2002. We are now located on IH-10 West in Fair Oaks Ranch, near Boerne, housing only dogs. We have made great improvements threw the years and hope to increase the number of animals rescued, increase adoptions, fundraising events, and reach more of the community. We provide a temporary shelter, rehabilitation and care to homeless and unwanted dogs until responsible, loving homes can be found. As a no-kill shelter, we want to help reduce the number of animals euthanized each year by educating the public on the importance of proper pet care, animal behavior and overpopulation prevention.
"Saving lives others have toss away".

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption application, brief interview, meet and greet, and adoption fee are required. Some of our dogs do require a home visit.
