My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, my name is Amy. I am a delightful 25 pound Terrier mix. I was a stray in a small town in New Mexico about to be euthanized when the nice people from the rescue saved me. Not much is known about my past, like how old I really am. The shelter thought I was about 3, but I am quite youthful in my exuberance for life. I may not have been treated well in my former life, I can be a little hand shy when people are standing up. But if you sit down, I will be in your lap in seconds! I do really well in the house, but I do need a routine and schedule to keep my house training on track. I do really like children a lot, one of my foster homes had a 6 year old girl and a teenage boy, and I did well with both. I am not sure how I would be with really small children so the rescue would not recommend that I be placed in a home with a child under 6 years old. I do well on a leash and am quick to learn new things. I would be a wonderful companion for a fairly active person who would take me on daily walks and hikes on the weekend.
