My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ghost is an approximately 8 year old spayed female Chinese Crested. She has recently been spayed and had a dental. She ended up in a shelter, along with her little friend Spirit, after their owner passed away. Ghost is a shy little girl that takes a few days before she warms up to a new person. Once you are in, you are her best buddy and she will shadow you everywhere. She needs someone that will know to slow down initially and let her learn to trust you, and she will be your lap surfer, cuddle bug in just a few short days! She loves to sit on your lap and have her skin rubbed. She loves to cuddle under a little blanket while she is there, she is one good snuggler. She follows her foster owner all around the house and keeps a constant watch on what she is doing, this is a dog that will want to spend time with you.

Ghost is housebroken with a doggy door, unless it is really cold outside and then she needs a puppy pad down or she will potty by the door. She tries to keep clean, but if you lived a life being completely naked you probably wouldn't want to go outside when it was under 50 degrees either! She is somewhat of a whiner in her crate, but she can also be crated at night and will stay clean that way, but we would not consider her crate trained. She has been tolerant of the preschool children in the household, and lets them talk to her and pet her while on the foster owner's lap, but is very wary of them and probably would prefer to be in a quieter household without children. She has not been barky at her foster dad, and follows him around and wants to be his friend, she just has not been brave enough to sit in his lap or let him pet her.

Chinese Crested doggies are not for everyone. They are a unique breed and have some quite specific needs because of their lack of hair but they are loyal and friendly little doggies and make wonderful pets in the right home. Do you have the right home for Ghost? If you do, email us today for an application! Her adoption fee is $200 plus a $17.99 microchip registration fee. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and heart worm negative.
