My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The two for one pair adoption special is back in action! Onyx and Lestat can be adopted for just one adoption fee, double the love at half the price! Just add their two adoption fees together and divide in half, a savings of over 50% for twice the love!

ONYX is a 5 year old black neutered male. He came to us with his best pal, Lestat. Lestat is a 10 year old yellow neutered male. Lestat and Onyx are a bonded pair of males and they need to be adopted together. Both boys enjoy retrieving and swimming and love affection! Lestat’s nickname is “Daddy” as he was a foster parent to lots of puppies, rabbits and kittens! Lestat enjoys carrying stuffed animals around like they are his baby. Both dogs are good on lead, Onyx is used to using a Gentle Leader on walks and does very well with it. Both dogs know basic commands such as “sit, stay, leave it, mind it, down, step up and go back”. Both are house trained and crate trained (but now have free roam of the home). Lestat and Onyx are both very affectionate and love to cuddle, they both used to sleep in bed with the owner’s son. Both boys are great with other dogs (large and small) as well as cats. Their previous owner fostered cats and dogs as well as rabbits and they did well with all of them. Lestat weighs 97 pounds and needs to lose around 25. Onyx weighs 75 pounds and that's a good weight. They used to live with a child and they're approved for kids aged 7 and up.

Update (4/16): The boys are doing great. Everyone enjoyed the nice days out in the yard playing. The squirrels are brave this year as neither of boys has a big interest in chasing them. Onyx discovered the big stash of tennis balls in the garage. It was not long before there were a dozen scattered around the yard.

Update (3/31): The boys are doing wonderfully! They are eating and playing just like any lab should! They absolutely love chasing balls! They also demand belly rubs, the typical labs! These guys really love each other and are never far from the other, checking out what the other is doing. They are a joy to foster and will make an easy transition into their forever family. They provide lots of love and affection!

Update (3/27): Onyx and Lestat have settled in and taken over the house. You would think they have been living here for years. They picked up the routine and make themselves comfy on the couch, chair, dog bed, their foster’s bed... well anywhere. Onyx is a lover of chasing tennis balls. He found the large stash of them in the garage and decided that he needed a few more in the house. So now he has 6 or 7 to chase. These two are truly a bonded pair and when Onyx gets the chance he is always checking out his pal and initiating play. The great thing about these two is that there is little more work than one and they will keep each other company all day.
