My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LACY is an almost 5 year old black spayed female who weighs 82 pounds. Lacy is a very sweet and loving girl. She has a lot of energy when outside and loves to run around. She is well- mannered and loves her people. Lacy is good with other dogs but she can by shy at first, so she would probably not enjoy going to a dog park. Lacy has a torn ACL in her right leg and our orthopedic surgeon will evaluate her to recommend treatment (if needed, Lab Rescue will pay for the cost of surgery performed at one of our vets). She's currently taking glucosamine supplements and anti-inflammatories. She's approved for kids aged 10+.

Update (4/24): Lacy is a beautiful black lab with the prettiest brown eyes. She's a big sweetheart and her fosters are smitten with her. She loves to play with dog toys and lounge on the big fluffy dog bed. Lacy follows her foster pretty closely. She currently can only do a few steps (she's on restriction as she recovers from ACL surgery.) She is generally laid back but can get excited when people arrive, she needs correction to keep all four feet on the ground but she loves meeting new people! Her whole body wags along with her tail. She gets a little excited over the leash and car keys. She will enjoy going for longer walks once she is off of restriction. Lacy knows sit and down - she sometimes gives you her paw. She prefers to be out of the crate and does just fine in a restricted area in the house when her fosters are out for the day. She is a really good girl waiting for the awesome family she deserves!

Update (4/06): Lacy is a very sweet girl. She gets along with the resident lab but is more interested in attention from her human housemates! Lacy loves to chase the tennis ball outside and will bring it back to you each time. She also enjoys running around the yard with her foster sibling. Lacy's second favorite toy is a stuffed goose, which she carries around and plays with indoors. On rainy days, Lacy has been perfectly content to lay on her bed while her foster parents watch tv. If doing chores, Lacy is curious and wants to know what her foster parents are up to. At night, Lacy sleeps on her bed in the bedroom. During the day, Lacy has access to three rooms of the house along with the other dog. She has not needed crating and has had no accidents while foster parents are out. Lacy is a gentle girl and would love your affection!

Update (3/29): Lacy is such a sweet girl! She enjoys the company of other dogs but adores spending time with her humans. She loves cuddling and loving with her fosters. Lacy is crate-trained though she's not a fan, but that's okay because she does fine without it. She is sweet girl who wants to follow her forever family home!
