Little Bowen made quite the impression when he arrived at the shelter. He was like a little circus dog. He planted himself right on top of one of the dog houses like
Snoopy. He was close to being named Snoopy, but we thought he deserved something more original. He is a social little boy. He does have a wirey coat but cannot guarantee he is hypo-allergetic. It would be up to your discretion. Bowen is very quiet in his kennel and very observant. He will watch employees walk back and forth by his kennel. He doesn't beg for attention, but merely watches for entertainment.
If you would like to adopt Bowen, please contact Susan at sassynpeaceful@gmail.com
Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
