Timber is one regal looking boy. These pictures do not do him justice. The first thing you notice are his deep blue eyes. They pop against his black coat. He has soft, black fur and with the right food, it will shine up nicely. He lives to have his belly rubbed and will stay on his back as long as you are petting him. Overall, he is a very affectionate dog. When you call him, he will run toward you with his ears pinned back and his head down. He is very humble. This is the kind of dog who will know he has been rescued and he will not take his new life for granted.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
