Reba's Story...
This is darling Reba. She is a 6 year old, petite red girl. Some of you may be getting deja vu..."Reba? is this the same Reba from a year ago?" Why yes it is! Our Reba cannot get a break. She was doing great in her forever home along with two other laid back dober-boys but the Jack Russel Terrier, as it turns out, was very Alpha girl, and after a few tussles and such, they had to bring Reba back. Reba originally came in as a stray from Alabama. From her fearful behavior we felt she had been abused by a man or men. When she meets folks, she is usually shy at first, but once she gets to know you, she is a cuddle bug. Reba is crate trained and does not chew bedding. Has lived in households with children 10 and up. She is currently living in a foster home where the head of household is also a animal behaviorist. They have several dogs and also take in dogs to board and Reba has done fine with this. They also have a cat and she has been fine. The behavior trainer has observed that Reba seems to feel like she has to watch over everything and control it all, again, probably a symptom of her abuse. He governs his home to show his dogs that he is a capable pack leader and this has allowed her to "lighten up". She would thrive in a calmer household where you are also a seasoned Doberman owner and while you show love in abundance, you also instill order and boundaries, which will be a supreme comfort to her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Reba, a New Richmond Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in New Richmond, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in New Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
