My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

KADY is a 4 year old black female who weighs 46 pounds. She's a sweet, petite girl who's friendly and affectionate and just wants love. Once she get to know you her tail goes a mile a minute. She is a good rider and good on leash. Kady likes other dogs. Kady is a country girl would do better in a quieter or neighborhood situation as opposed to a super busy city setting. She is a little timid of cars and traffic. Kady is Heartworm positive (Lab Rescue will pay for her treatment if done at one of our vets). She's approved for kids aged 10+.

Update (4/24): Kady is doing great! She had an overnight play date with a previous adopter and did wonderfully. She is doing great at her foster. She loves to go out and play in the yard (6ft fence) with the other dogs and so far has impeccable house manners. She is a very pretty girl, such a sweet face!!

Updated from her Overnighter: Lady Kady came to stay with us overnight on her way to her long term foster. I can tell you, she is one great girl. She never barked, got along great with my dog Brady and my cat Minks. She is extremely affectionate, wags her tail every time you look at her and when you go to pet her she will always reward you with a kiss. She is perfect in the house not bothering anything. Kady loves to be outdoors and walks well on a leash.

Update (4/08): What a sweet sweet girl!! Kady is a super sweet young lady. I say lady because she is gentle on the leash, not quick to grab a treat and didn't want breakfast this morning until she had had suitable doggie love time! She is a little bit timid, probably a dog that didn't have a lot of privileges in the house. She discovered herself in the mirror last night. And she clearly wasn't used to a long flight of stairs as I had to carry her downstairs twice :) (this morning she managed all on her own :)

Don't let her timid nature scare you. She loves to be petted and is good with strangers. Kady just looks to her caretaker for a little extra encouragement, as she looks to the other dog in the house. The two dogs were laying on separate beds. Mine started wagging her tail and i praised her. Kady was watching and slowly started wagging her tail. Adorable!! And not having had a lot of privileges also means she does not demand constant attention. Last night she found a bone in the toy basket and settled in an empty dog bed while I worked on Monday night chores. When I finally returned, she got up for doggie love and went back to her bed.

Kady has not had any house accidents and sleeps through the night. She also gets along great with my dog. While Kady doesn't readily respond to commands such as sit, a little practice or dog obedience school will fix that. (She is already responding to gentle reminders)
