Nico's Story...
Monty and I were found wandering the streets of Oakdale, fending for ourselves. A good Samaritan took us to the animal shelter, but there were so many other Chihuahuas there —some of us would have to go (one way or the other). Luckily, a Dusty Paws foster dad came to our rescue. We were a little scared at first, but then we met his other dogs and it was better. Monty and I like playing with each other and our new dog friends. They tell us there is a cat in the house; we don’t ever see it, but we are sure we would be friends.

Monty’s foster dad notes that Nico is a lover, not a loner. He loves to cuddle with both the dogs and the humans in the family. He is a lap dog who will be so happy sitting on the couch with you. Nico is a little guy, only 6 lbs., and is 3-4 years old.

For any inquiries or arrangements to meet Nico, feel free to contact his foster dad, Rick (510-459-0396). You may also submit an application:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nico, a Castro Valley Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Castro Valley, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Castro Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Castro Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Castro Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Castro Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
