Elsa's Story...
Our little Frozen family came to us from a home that kindly took in mother Elsa and found themselves with a new litter of kittens to care for! Elsa had four beautiful boys, Sven, Olaf, Kristoff and Hans (Kristoff and Hans were adopted before they even made it to the website!)

Elsa, the mom, is a gorgeous shorthaired calico. She is a young adult who is spayed and ready for a new home!

From Elsa's foster mom: Elsa is the sweetest calico cat I've ever met. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. After having had a tough life, she wants nothing more than attention and food, and she'll pay you back ten-fold in love. She has striking yellow eyes, gorgeous fur-colouring, and one "mangled" ear from having a life-long ear infection that was never treated. Her ear infection is all gone now, but her unique ear will stay that way forever. She's just finished raising a litter of 5 and is looking forward to some time to relax! Ideally on the couch next to you. Elsa is currently making friends with her first dog, and would be able to live with a very calm, respectful dog if necessary.

Elsa is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. Her adoption donation is $165. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Please fill out an application at our website You can also reach us by email at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elsa, a Cambridge Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Cambridge, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Cambridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cambridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cambridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cambridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
