Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DOB: 04/01/2013
Color: Black Weight: 51 lbs
At just a year old Monkey lives up to her name! She’s a sweet and affectionate girl that will keep her family entertained. She also knows how to open lever style door handles…yep…she’s a character and smart.
She has a healed fracture of a hind leg and an overbite. But that doesn’t bother her!
Monkey cannot live with cats! But she’s fine with other dogs. She’s in a foster home with other dogs including greyhound Beck who is also available for adoption. Beck absolutely adores here. They make a good pair!
Foster Home Update: Foster Monkey is quite the impish little thing. She will steal just about anything I've touched. If something is missing, I've learned to check the back yard. I'm rather sure she is responsible for the large stuffed dog being stuck in the dog door when I came home last week (and by large stuffed dog, I mean larger than she is!). She figured out how to drag Beck's blanket out the dog door into the yard almost immediately upon arriving at our house, while Beck was still unsuccessfully trying to carry it around while standing on it. She teases our resident Rottweiler-mix, Diogi, by outrunning him around the yard and then they enjoy a good-natured grr-fest; all grr, no bite. She also gives 'love-nibbles' to humans, but with her extreme underbite there is no harm done and none intended, I can tell. She's whip-smart and just as quick on her feet. She's a prankster. But for all her sass, she is a cuddle monster and will worm her way onto your lap, into your arms, and into your heart.
(Our policy is to reserve the cat-trainable dogs for those homes that truly require them. If you have no small animals, you will need to adopt a dog that is not deemed small animal trainable.)
Adoption Process:
1. Fill out application. You will find it on our website
2. Phone interview with an adoption coordinator
