MEET POPPY:
Through the dancing poppies stole a breeze most softly lulling to my soul. This poetic quote by John Keats seemed a most apt start to our little POPPY's bio. This 4.5 year old longhaired chocolate dachshund is the sweetest, most darling girl who will surely give your heart and soul pause and reason to dance with joy at the same time. Like a breeze, our POPPY doesn't bark, instead she gives love and chocolate kisses. Have you been looking for a POPPY? Perhaps you're the forever family she has been looking for too.
OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
