This is Buster. He is a sweetheart. He loves a good scratch on the head and will nuzzle you to get your attention. He will rub against your leg and look up at you with his gorgeous puppy dog eyes. He likes to cuddle too. He likes to play with other dogs and will engage them to join him. Buster also likes to roll around in the grass. His tail always seems to be wagging, even when he was on the vet table getting poked and prodded. He already knows some basic commands and will be happy to listen. He can be just a little shy but warms up quickly. He is a very friendly and laid back kind of dog. He will make a great family pet. Does Buster sound like a jewel to you? Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
