Halle, born 1/31/11, likes to talk, play eat and sleep. But when she isn't doing those things, she's a great companion who'll keep you smiling. Halle is a calico retriever who loves to play with sponge balls and then she picks them up and brings them back to you. She also LOVES french fries! Halle has had a complete wellness exam, has been spayed, microchipped, tested negative for Feline Leukemia/FIV, and is updated on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $150.00 which includes a free wellness exam within 7 days of adoption. For more information, please call 952-368-7297 line 2. Halle is currently in foster care. Payment is either cash or check. Sorry we do not do any out of state adoptions. ADOPTING A PET IS A LIFELONG COMMITMENT

Halle is a 5 yr old female tortoiseshell/calico  mix who was picked up in April 2012 by the Maple Grove impound
and brought into our rescue.  Initially she was extremely scared and aggressive and would often bite when you reached
out to pet her. She was especially guarded around her torso area - we suspect that she was physically abused in her previous home. However she has made tremendous progress in her foster home in learning to trust people and now allows her foster family to pet her and interact with her.  She even sits and purrs on her foster dad’s lap! This has been a long process that continues daily. However she is still not a fan of being picked up. About her personality: she is a very smart, strong willed, independent cat. These are common traits in a tortoiseshell/tortie breed and she definitely lives up to that reputation! We think she would prefer to be an only cat since she wants all your attention! She has learned to co-exist with our resident cats but mostly ignores them. She needs a low-key household without kids (or older teenage kids)
and lots of attention.
But don’t take our word for it - let Halle tell you in her own words:My name is Halle and I have never had a home to call my own, at least not that I remember.  I am very independent, strong willed, perfectly healthy and SMART! I also like to play in the bathtub and drink from the faucet, for some reason I like French Fries, and can also catch mice if needed. Will you give me a second chance at a forever home?
