Hi everyone! Shuga here. That is Shuga…I’m cool like that. No callin’ me the stinkin’ sweet “sugar.” I’m tough. I’m rough. I’m a tom boy! And as cool and hip as I try to be, my foster mom still says I’m “sweet as sugar". I am 2 years old and full of fun. The world is my oyster! I love, love, love to walk and I can really go (for a bulldog)! Can you believe it! A bull dog that actually walks? I might be a Labrador in a bulldog suit! You never know! My foster parents take me on a 2-3 mile walk every day. While this is ok this time of year, once the weather gets warmer (above 70-75), is much shorter and lighter walks for me and more exercise in the house.
My foster brother is 12 and just looks at me like I'm crazy when mom gets the leash out for our walk. I run around, circle and jump up and down. As a matter of fact, I have energy like this much of the time! I really don't like to be alone & follow my foster mom everywhere. I’ve got to watch her because she sometimes tries to leave the house….I’m always on alert. I don’t want her to go! And when she does head out, that typically means a car ride for me. And boy of boy do I get excited about hitting the city in the back seat of the car. I like to take in the views, the noises, and the companionship. I think I’d be best in a convertible, top down, wind in my fur, sunglasses on, you can just picture it right?
My foster parents say that I was a a bit of a handful when I arrived in their care. I am still a puppy and like to nibble on things, my humans included. You will have to be patient with me and I could really use some formal training to redirect my attention to appropriate play. For instance, my foster mom got me a big bone to chew on and she often throws my toy down the long hall so that we can play chase and wear out my energy! It works!
I would love to have a home where someone is around throughout the day. And I would definitely like to have another canine brother or sister in the house to keep me busy. I think I would be ok with older kids (teens), but younger kids find me to be too much of a handful.
I am healthy, up to date on my vaccines, spayed and microchipped! If you are looking for an exceptional pet, than I certainly am your ticket!
Catch ya on the flip side!
