My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There are many famous Blakes these days—superstar celebrities Blake Shelton and Blake Lively come to mind… but Hollywood has nothing on our Blake! Blake is a black and white beauty and she’s ready to strut her stuff right out of PAWS and into the arms of her ‘furever’ family! Blake is just under a year old and was picked up by a Good Samaritan off the streets of Chicago who fostered her until she could be relinquished to PAWS to find a ‘purrrmanent’ home.

Blake spent almost a month in a foster home this winter where she quickly adapted to her new environment and was eager to explore every nook and cranny of her new digs! Blake is a playful older kitten who exhibits all the curiosity and athleticism of a cat her age. She loves to play and her foster mom said Blake loved running and sliding on the floors of her apartment and would also jump into high places for a quick cat nap. Blake lived with goldfish in her foster home but didn’t pay much attention to them (somehow we doubt the fish were offended by her lack of interest) and would likely do well as an only kitty in her next home.

Blake would do best in a home without children, as she can sometimes nip when she is feeling scared or stressed. However, she is good about letting her human friends know when she has had enough petting and would undoubtedly blossom in a home with an experienced cat owner who can read when she is getting over-stimulated. Fun and friendly, Blake loved to play with her foster mom and guests to her foster home—especially with the laser pointer! Although she is independent, Blake loved being near her foster mom. She slept with her at night and sought out attention and playtime daily—she just prefers things to be on her terms of course! Her foster mom quickly fell in love with Blake and told us she absolutely would have adopted her, however this was not the right time for her to adopt a cat ‘purrrmanently.’ We’d all love to see Blake find a loving home where she can relax and just be herself in 2014… Can you give Blake the Hollywood ending she’s been waiting for?
