Gus's Story...
"Hi there, my name is Gus! I'm a quiet, friendly boy, who loves to snuggle! I'm a male Dachshund / Chihuahua mix, and I'm looking for a new family to call my very own! I'm about one year old, and I weigh around 9.5 lbs. I'm a great size to share the couch with! I walk nicely on leash, and enjoy going for short walks with my volunteer friends and frolicking in the play yard. Live in an apartment? That's okay with me, I won't take up much space! If you think that I could be the dog that you've been looking for, please stop by the shelter to visit me! I'm already neutered, so I'm ready to go home right away!" Gus prefers women, and can be a bit nervous around men. He has been vaccinated, and is already neutered and microchipped. He is located in kennel A-3.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gus, a Dublin Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Dublin, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Dublin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dublin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dublin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dublin paves the way for another one to be saved.
