My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a 5-month-old neutered male Pug mix. I weigh about 12 pounds, but I may gain just a few pounds more as I mature. Let me tell you, if you're looking for a super happy, super silly, super friendly little guy, then look no further. You have hit the jackpot! I'm exactly what every potential dog owner is looking for. Totally issue free! I get along great with other dogs and I love everybody I meet! I was picked up as a stray and brought to a local high-kill shelter. The staff at the shelter saw that I was limping on my right rear leg. They decided that X-rays were in order. Turns out, I had a fractured femur. They put me on pain medication, but that was it. So, there I sat. Waiting for someone to save me from that scary place. Then just a few days later, CageFree rescued me and rushed me to their private veterinarian. My doctor took one look at my X-rays and knew that I needed surgery. The injury looked like it was several weeks old because I had a lot of scar tissue that had built up. In order to realign everything he was going to have to break all that down first. I was told it was going to be a pretty extensive surgery. That same day I went under the knife. My doctor removed all the scar tissue and put in a bone plate to stabilize everything. Oh, they also neutered me, which wasn't what I signed up for. They didn't even tell me! I've been told that it had to be done, so I'm OK with it. I was discharged with the good news that I would most likely make a full recovering. It was suggested that I start physical therapy to avoid something called a 'peg leg'. But, once everyone saw how well I was using the leg, they realized that the physical therapy wasn't necessary. You should really see how well I get around. Trust me, if I hadn't told you my story, you would have never known there was something wrong. Well...except for the shaved leg and the really manly incision I have. Now that all that surgery stuff is out of the way, I am looking for a new forever home. Let me tell you a little bit about what I am looking for in a family. I am pretty young still and I love to jump, run, play, and roll around on the ground, (shh..don't tell my surgeon. I'm supposed to be on activity restriction for the next 6-8 weeks.) so, I'm looking for an active family. If you like to go to the dog park, play in the backyard, or run around on the beach, I am your guy. I've already started taking calls so get your application in soon! You wouldn't want to miss out on your chance to adopt me. If you think that you would make a good companion for me, like I said, don't wait to contact CageFree to arrange an appointment to meet me.
