This is Kato! He was dumped in a random neighborhood to fend for himself. Animal Control almost picked him up but our loyal southern volunteer, Pat Stone, scooped him up just in time. He has the face and build of a Labrador Retriever, and the markings of a Dalmatian. Truly a one-of-a-kind pup! Kato is about 3 years old and weighs 63 pounds. He loves to play with other dogs whether it's one-on -one or in a group. He likes to play fetch with a ball or one of his squeaky toys. He will engage other dogs to play with him. He loves to be petted, hugged and just be with you. Kato is a very happy dog that approaches all other dogs in a positive manner. He has a wonderful temperament overall! Kato was fully vetted and given a clean bill of health. If Kato sounds like the dog for you, fill out an adoption application today.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
