Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Farfel's Rescue was notified by a compassionate rescuer in Texas that a strikingly beautiful, and sweet as can be, Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier mix was scheduled for euthanasia in just 3 days. The rescuer spoke of this almost 1- year old, 11 lb pup as a gift of pure love. She saw Fleur as a wonderful and kind companion for a family with older kids - she was concerned that very young children would intimidate Fleur if they treated her roughly. She also described her as a great friend to gentle canines...she would enjoy the playing, long walks together and hanging out at day's end. We took a look at the lovely eyes staring out of the shelter photo (they spoke of difficult times)... and heard the reports of Fleur's carefully wagging tail that spoke of a huge desire to trust and bond for life. We accepted Fleur immediately into our program. She was removed from the shelter, vetted (perfectly healthy), temperament-tested (passed with flying colors) and brought to a nurturing family who will reinforce Fleur's house skills and socialization while she waits for her transport to a new life in Colorado. We've committed to finding Fleur a committed and super-loving family who will enjoy her for her devotion, sweetness and strong desire to please. Once Fleur becomes comfortable in her surroundings, she is a friend that will make you laugh at her antics and want to hold her tight just because she's so incredibly cute! We would love to see Fleur in a home where she becomes a true member of the family. Retirees or individuals who work out of the house would be perfect for this sweet young girl. Fleur tends to be a calm pup who loves nothing more than to settle into her person's lap and stay put with an occasional lick and a wiggle of delight at her good fortune. She would love long walks outdoors in the sunshine and is portable enough to bring along on every dog-friendly adventure. Fleur does well in the car and would be overjoyed with riding shotgun. Fleur appears to be a non-shedding pup and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep her gorgeous golden coat silky and matt-free. She is not necessarily suggested for those with very severe allergy concerns.
Fleur will be arriving on transport in Denver on 4/11. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional and very loving companion.
