Katie's Story...
Katie is a beautiful and sweet kitty looking for a forever home. She is about 3 years old and started out as an outside "stray" kitty and stumbled into the yard of an animal lover who had her spayed and got her her shots. Sadly, the lady did not have room in her home with her other pets to bring Katie inside but has kept her well fed and sheltered outside. Gradually, Katie has come out of her shell and become extremely sweet. She allows the lady to pick her up and give her kisses and she is even friendly with the lady's dog. Unfortunately, the lady will be moving soon and there will not be a safe outside place for Katie. With a loving and patient guardian, Katie would make a wonderful inside kitty. She would even be content being an inside/outside kitty in a home in a quiet neighborhood or barn. She has beautiful soft grey fur with big patches of bright white fur on her face, chest, paws, and the tip of her tail. She loves to welcome the lady home each evening and looks forward to head scratches and meals.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katie, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
